• We collect author names from DBLP.
• We collect email addresses, funding sources, and affiliations from the papers themselves, from conference organizers, from online sources such as the NSF or the authors' websites, and from authors' own updates.
• We collect information on which authors have submitted what information in our surveys (see sample). We only publish the information from the last author of each paper who verified information on our website, but all historical information is stored in our database. We may publish more detailed information in the future, but only in anonymized and aggregate form, such as "For X% of papers, 2 or more authors verified information."
• We collect information, through our web logs, regarding which authors have clicked on the survey link in the email they receive (see sample), even if they did not click "Verify". We may publish this information in the future, but only in anonymized and aggregate form, such as "X% of the authors who were contacted clicked on the survey link, but only Y% clicked 'Verify'."

We collect the following information about visitors to our site:

• We collect information, through our web logs, regarding the IP addresses that have accessed the pages on our site. We may publish this in the future, but only in anonymized and aggregate form.

We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that was extracted from public sources or which you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. You can do this by following the appropriate link in the email we sent to you.

We discourage authors from forwarding survey emails they receive from us. Distinct survey emails are sent to each author of a paper. Each email includes a link to a survey that is unique to the receiving author. Forwarding this email/link to others would allow recipients to impersonate the author when answering the survey. Similarly, our website logs of visits to survey pages would attribute the visit to the author who originally received the email/link.

Security

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.

Only employee/research assistants who need the information to perform a specific job is granted access to your information. The computers/servers in which we store this information are kept in a secure environment.
